Elvis Presley, Paul McCartney And The Eagles All Return To The Same Billboard Chart

What do Elvis Presley, Paul McCartney, and The Eagles all have in common? A lot, actually, but this week, they all manage a feat at the same time. All three artists—and a few others—return to the same Billboard chart this frame as the allure of the approaching Christmas holiday brings some of their cuts back to prominence.

All three legends are back on the Rock Streaming Songs chart this week. The tally, published by Billboard, lists the tracks labeled as rock by the company—with that genre distinction being somewhat subjective—that rack up the most plays on platforms like Spotify and AppleAAPL -0.9% Music in the U.S.

The highest-ranking of the bunch of returning hits comes from Elvis Presley. The King’s “Blue Christmas” is one of the most beloved holiday tunes in America, and it isn’t surprising that it has picked up in streams in the past week or so. It’s the highest-charting tune that wasn’t present on the list last frame—coming in at No. 6—and it will likely climb in the coming frames. “Blue Christmas” previously peaked at No. 1.

Fellow rock legend Chuck Berry narrowly misses out on returning to the top 10 on this week’s Rock Streaming Songs chart, though he may very well enter that space very soon. His fun Christmas smash “Run Rudolph Run” is back at No. 11. Like Presley’s “Blue Christmas,” it also spent time at No. 1.

Just behind Berry comes beloved rockers The Eagles. The group’s cover of “Please Come Home for Christmas” is back at No. 12. It once rose as high as No. 3, and its ascent this year is just beginning.

Paul McCartney is also back on the Rock Streaming Songs chart, but it hasn’t been very long since he last appeared on the tally. This time around, his holiday smash “Wonderful Christmastime” reappears at No. 14. It has yet to top the ranking but came very close, once peaking at No. 2.

Just two weeks ago, McCartney earned a new hit on the roster as part of The Beatles. The band’s new single “Now and Then” debuted and stalled at No. 5, but it only managed one week on the chart.
