The country superstar joined forces with Mick Fleetwood and Peter Frampton as well as the two remaining Beatles’ for a cover of their timeless classic ‘Let It Be’.
Dolly Parton has shared a star-studded cover of The Beatles’ ‘Let It Be’, featuring the remaining Beatles Paul McCartney and Ringo Starr. Rock legends Mick Fleetwood and Peter Frampton also appear on the track.
It was announced earlier this week as a part of Parton’s upcoming 49th solo studio album Rockstar. The album, announced in May and arriving in November, will be made up of nine original songs and 21 covers of some of the most influential rock songs of our time.
She has called Rockstar her “first Rock and Roll album”, and it will feature rock/pop artists both young and old.
She recently shared a cover of Queen’s ‘We Are the Champions’ and a cover of ‘Magic Man’ with Heart’s Ann Wilson, as well as originals ‘World On Fire’ and ‘Bygones’ which features Rob Halford from Judas Priest and Mötley Crüe‘s Nikki Sixx. When the album drops, it will also include covers of Prince’s ‘Purple Rain’, The Rolling Stones‘ ‘(I Can’t Get No) Satisfaction’, and ‘Free Bird’. The ‘Free Bird’ cover will feature multiple posthumous performances from Lynyrd Skynyrd members including Gary Rossington, who passed away in March, and vocals from Ronnie Van Zandt.
Dolly expressed her excitement over the upcoming record in a statement. “I am very honoured and privileged to have worked with some of the greatest iconic singers and musicians of all time and to be able to sing all the iconic songs throughout the album was a joy beyond measure. I hope everybody enjoys the album as much as I’ve enjoyed putting it together!”
