Ringo Starr reacts to new Beatles’ track hitting number one on the charts

Released 60 years after the Beatles’ first Number One hit ‘From Me To You’ in 1963, ‘Now And Then’ was created from an old demo tape from the late John Lennon. McCartney and Starr used AI to complete the song, and it’s subsequently been billed as the “final” Beatles song.

“What’s happening it’s all happening number one in England UK incredible a few more facts will come on the screen,” wrote Starr on his Twitter, with a video attached. “Peace and love everybody. It’s a beautiful day.”

The video, alongside a collection of old footage of the Beatles, lists out various accomplishments the song has already achieved. The song is the fastest-selling single of 2023 so far, has the most streams in a week of any Beatles’ song ever, and is the fastest-selling vinyl single of the century.

The music video for ‘Now And Then’ was released last week alongside the track and was directed by Lord Of The Rings director Peter Jackson. It featured appearances from all four members of the Beatles, including John Lennon and George Harrison via unseen early footage. In the nine days since its release, the video has already seen over 27 million views on YouTube.

Furthermore, the group dropped the Remixed & Expanded Red & Blue albums on Friday, 10th November. The release is an expanded version of the 1962-1966 and 1967-1970 compilations, which became affectionally known as the Red and Blue albums.
