Lady Gaga And The Rolling Stones Surge On The Billboard Charts With Their Joint Hit

Last week, Lady Gaga and The Rolling Stones scored their first Billboard chart hit together. The two debuted their joint single “Sweet Sounds of Heaven” on the Rock Digital Song Sales chart, fairly low on the list, as it didn’t have a full tracking frame in which to rack up sales. Now, not only has the cut climbed to a new high on that tally, it’s also reached several others.

In its second week on the Rock Digital Song Sales chart, “Sweet Sounds of Heaven” enjoys a sizable leap up the ranking. This frame, it vaults to No. 7, breaking into the top 10 for the first time. The track instantly becomes Gaga’s first top 10 win on the tally, and her highest-charting hit. Previously, she topped out at No. 11 with “Top Gun Anthem” alongside composers Harold Faltermeyer, Hans Zimmer, and Lorne Balfe. The Rolling Stones earn their sixth top 10 on the list.

At the same time, “Sweet Sounds of Heaven” debuts on two additional Billboard charts. The tune rises highest on the Digital Song Sales chart, which ranks all tracks, regardless of genre, in terms of sales via online storefronts like iTunes and AmazonAMZN. “Sweet Sounds of Heaven” launches at No. 29 with 1,826 copies sold, according to information shared by Luminate.

“Sweet Sounds of Heaven” marks Gaga’s milestone fortieth placement on the Digital Song Sales chart. The tune is her first new placement of 2023. The Rolling Stones have only sent four titles to the ranking—just one-tenth of what Gaga has managed. Coincidentally, “Sweet Sounds of Heaven” ties with their other recent hit, “Angry,” as both peaked at No. 29.

Looking outside of just sales, “Sweet Sounds of Heaven” also reaches the Hot Rock & Alternative Songs chart. The weekly ranking takes into account sales, streams and radio play to showcase which rock and alternative tracks are the most-consumed in America. The new rock hit opens at No. 45 on the tally.

This time, The Rolling Stones beat Gaga when it comes to familiarity with the ranking. The band has now pushed nine titles to the Hot Rock & Alternative Songs chart. Gaga, who is better known as a pop and dance chart-topper, reaches the list for the first time in her career.
